TROCA 56 — Screw-Free 3D Titanium Trochlear Cap for Patellar Luxation
The TROCA 56 was developed for cases with specific surgeon preference for a screw-free approach.
Fixation relies entirely on the latticed pin structure integrated into the inner surface of the implant. These pins are press-fitted into precisely positioned holes created with the included patient-specific drilling guide, providing immediate mechanical grip. Over time, bone ingrowth into the titanium lattice provides additional biological stability. A custom fixation aid ensures correct implant orientation during placement.
The TROCA 56 delivers equivalent long-term outcomes to the screw-assisted variants while expanding the range of cases that can be addressed with the TROCA system.
Process:
- Submit your case: Send us the CT scan (DICOM format) of the affected limb. CT requirements
- 3D visualisation: We create an accurate, high-quality 3D model of the femur within 2 working days for your review.
- Implant design: The TROCA 50 implant is custom-modelled to fit the patient's trochlea. You review and approve the design.
- Drilling guide design: Two patient-specific drilling guides are designed for precise cortical screw placement.
- Manufacturing: Implant produced in medical-grade titanium alloy via DMLS technology. Guides printed in biocompatible polymer.
- Delivery: Full kit dispatched by courier, typically within 2–4 weeks of case submission.
The TROCA 56 system includes:
- 1x anatomical model — original state
- 1x anatomical model — post-drilling state
- 2x patient-specific drilling guides for precise pin placement (one for rehearsal, one for surgery)
- 1x fixation aid — positioning jig for correct implant seating
- 1x TROCA 56 implant — medical-grade titanium, DMLS printed with integrated latticed pins
- Sterilisation & handling instructions
