Our products in action: a case where precision was critical

In the treatment of a multilobular osteochondrosarcoma (MLO) diagnosed in a 6-year-old Australian Shepherd, we supported the surgical team with patient-specific 3D planning, a custom cutting guide, and a special medical grade-23 titanium implant. 3D visualization enabled the identification and preservation of critical anatomical structures, and the anatomically fitted reconstruction played a key role in restoring the natural skull shape.

The goal of the surgery was complete tumor resection followed by immediate, personalized reconstruction. According to the postoperative results, no complications occurred, and the follow-up CT scan showed no residual tumor or metastasis.

For us, this case once again confirms that 3D planning and patient-specific implants provide real added value in veterinary surgery - greater precision, safer procedures, and improved quality of life for patients.

Virág’s background story

Virág is a Yorkshire terrier who spent her days at a shelter (hosted by Állat és Ember Állatvédő Egyesület \[“Animal and Human” Animal Protection Association]). She could not use her left hind leg due to a congenital disorder. Doctor Seregi, one of the owners of FuzioVet Animal Hospital, was the orthopaedist at the shelter. That is how he met Virág and tried to find a solution to her problem.
